Nethermancer Spells Update C 1

I’ve been a little slow on this series where I update older spells from 1st edition to 4th edition because a) the view counts were very small and b) Morgan is working on the next book of magic that will overlap with this. Let’s get into it.

Circle 1:

Bone Dance
Thread: 1  Weaving: 7/15
Casting: TMD  Range: 25 yards
Duration: 1 minute  
Effect: WIL+4 / Use spirits hinder movement
Concentration. If the Spellcasting test is successful, each round the Nethermancer must make a standard action to roll the effect test against the target’s Strength value.
Success Levels: Increase Duration (+2 rounds)
Extra Threads: Increase Duration (+2 rounds), Increase Effect (+1 to recovery test), Additional Target (+2 yard)
Example Appearance: The nethermancer performs an erratic body jerking dance while whispering for the spirits for help.

Detect Undead
Thread: NA  Weaving: NA/7
Casting: TMD  Range: 25 yards
Duration: Rank + 3 minutes  
Effect: WIL + 5 / Detect Undead
Concentration. If the Spellcasting Test is successful, the target uses the caster’s Effect result against the Spell Defense of an undead within range. If the effect result is higher than the undead’s Mystic Defense, the target detects the undead.
Success Levels: Increase Duration (+2 rounds)
Extra Threads: Increase Duration (+2 rounds), Increase Effect (+2 to Effect test)
Example Appearance: The Nethermancer touches a target and smears a bit of dust or dirt on their brow.

Dry and Wet
Thread: 1  Weaving: 7/8
Casting: 7  Range: 15 yards
Duration: 1 round 
Effect: WIL + 4 / Dry soaked items or soak dry items
If the Spellcasting test is successful, you can dry soaked items or soak dry items a number of pounds based on the Effect result.
Success Levels: Increase Effect (+2 rounds)
Extra Threads: Increase Effect (+2 rounds)
Example Appearance: The Nethermancer whispers some magic words than spits or makes a dramatic swallow when casting the spell.

Insect Repellent
Thread: 1   Weaving: 6/7
Casting: 6  Range: Touch
Duration: Rank + 3 minutes
Effect: WIL + 5 / Repel insects
If the Spellcasting test is successful, insects are repelled from the target. In order for insects to not move away from the target, they must make a Willpower Test against the Effect results.
Success Levels: Increase Duration (+3 minutes)
Extra Threads: Increase Duration (+3 minutes), Additional Target (+1 target)
Example Appearance: The Nethermancer makes a buzzing sounds similar to a flying insect, the buzzing becoming softer as the spell is cast.

Putrefy
Thread: NA  Weaving: NA/9
Casting: See Effect  Range: 25 yards
Duration: Ongoing Area of Effect: 2 yards
Effect: WIL + 6 / Putrefy food
If no one is eating the food, the Spell Defense is 6. If someone is is eating the food when the spell is cast, the caster must overcome the highest Mystic Defense of the person(s) eating. If the Spellcasting test is successful, Effect result in pounds of food spoil or putrefy.
Success Levels: Increase Effect (+2 to Effect test)
Extra Threads: Increase Effect (+2 to Effect test)
Example Appearance: The Nethermancer cast the spell by swallowing with a slight grimace, than looking at the food they wish to putrefy.

Undead Struggle
Thread: NA   Weaving: NA/7
Casting: TMD  Range: 10 yards
Duration: Rank + 3 rounds  
Effect: WIL + 4 / Engage Undead in Magical Combat
If the Spellcasting test is successful, the Nethermancer and an undead creature are locked in magical combat. Neither may move or take any other action than that required for Undead Struggle. The caster rolls the Effect test and compares the result to the target’s Willpower test. The winner takes no damage, but the loser takes damage equal to the full result of his opponent’s roll. Mystic Armor provides protection from Undead Struggle.
Success Levels: Increase Duration (+2 rounds)
Extra Threads: Increase Duration (+2 rounds), Increase Effect (+4 to Effect Test)
